Simplifying Bookcases

Cleaning up and simplifying the bookcases before above and the after is below.

It still looks pretty full but I definitely removed a lot. Stored below are extra vases, platters, tablecloths, napkins, etc.. since this area is next to the dining table and kitchen, it's nice to have those items close by.

Most of these items are vintage/ thrift or just randomly found on sale at Target or Pottery Barn.

I'm glad I took the few minutes to make it look a little cleaner. It's not perfect but it's better than before.

Turtle Shell Wall Art

I always struggle finding affordable yet interesting art and wall decor. When my in-laws casually mentioned they had some turtle shells,  I knew just what I wanted to do with them- put them on the wall, of course! My husband wasn't convinced at first but I think he likes them now.

The magnolia print is from art.com and frame is the large Ikea Ribba. I did put the plexiglass front behind the art to reduce the glare and help the print look a little more like a painting.

The bamboo blanket ladder was found on Amazon for a pretty great price considering how large it is.  Would also work well in a bathroom holding towels.

I had a little trouble hanging them and ended up with gorilla glue and some saw tooth picture hangers with picture framing wire. They've been up for about a month so fingers crossed it works long term.
