We're lucky to have this half bath right on the main floor but knew it needed some updating once we saw it. Thankfully there was no wallpaper to remove in this bathroom (YES!) but we wanted to add some character and freshen it up a bit. When we purchased the marble slab for the kitchen, I worked with the fabricator to ensure we used up every last bit and had enough to replace the top in here. Of course the new counter started the trickle effect of a new sink, faucet, toilet, mirror, and light. The vanity was in great shape so I was able to update it with a fresh coat of paint, it's Benjamin Moore Hale Navy. Ok, that's enough chatter, let's get to the before and after pictures! :-)
Here is the before, this is from the listing photo:
And the afters!
We added the same shiplap look boards as the eat in kitchen but only put them halfway up the wall. Then I used a stencil for the top half. It was my first time using a stencil and it was easier/ turned out better than I expected- I actually love the result! It looks like it could be wallpaper but with much less investment and commitment. This is the stencil that I used: Cutting Edge Kerala.
